Assistant, Facility Operations
Position Type: Federal Work Study and Non-Federal Work Study
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interact with students, Detroit Mercy employees, and external vendors/contractors as their first point of contact with Facility Operations in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner while directing them to the proper individual or area to address the need or issue in question.
- Process purchase requisitions within Banner from multiple departmental budgets.
- Maintain multiple departmental budgets in Excel to provide current information to management.
- Process key requisitions and construction requests via an online work request system.
- Communicate with external vendors to reconcile discrepancies, to request vendor information, or to request necessary documentation.
- Audit for budget inconsistencies, unpaid invoices, or incorrect check disbursements using Banner.
- Additional duties as assigned for experience and skill level.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered for Summer 24 term and/or Fall 24 term.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work fifteen (15) or more hours a week.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to lift general office items less than 25 lbs.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 20 hours per week; Office hours Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
