Transportation District Administrator 2 - Harrison County
The Transportation District Administrator 2 will serve as the Equipment Shop Supervisor and will assist the director of the Equipment Division in managing and maintaining the heavy equipment transportation fleet for the district. Should exhibit expert level knowledge and have the ability to perform full-performance advanced level work administering highway maintenance programs of any level of complexity. Will act as the liaison for the district regarding equipment concerns and/or needs. Responsibilities will include oversight of budgetary needs, equipment repair and maintenance and issues pertaining to the equipment shop. This incumbent should be able to analyze and make appropriate decisions with limited supervision. Work is evaluated and reviewed according to organizational goals, regulations, feasibility, and effectiveness in reaching desired outcomes. Advanced supervisory, planning, and budgetary skills are essential to this position. All work is accomplished in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards developed by the Department of Transportation as well as national highway standards. Distinguishing factors include the limited level of direction and latitude for independent decision-making. Position may also supervise the work of other Transportation District Administrators. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Substitution: Experience, as described below, may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Six (6) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in business administration, public administration, transportation, construction, manufacturing, mining, or the armed services.
OR
- Six (6) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience serving in the capacity of a project coordinator.
- Substitution. Successful completion of graduate coursework may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience through an established formula.
