Podcast Assistant - Ministry

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As the Student Podcast Producer, you will assist the University Ministry Team in planning out, creating, and generating all content related to the What’s the Tea with Ministry Podcast for the 2025-2026 academic year. This includes helping to communicate with upcoming guests, schedule recording sessions, reaching out to groups or individuals who would be good to have as guest on the podcast, learning how to edit episodes to reflect our brand and mission, and developing public speaking skills when engaging as the co-host of the podcast.

Weekly Outlook and Action Plan
- The weekly outlook and action plan will coincide with the areas of ministry, special events, and community outreach projects that are developed by the Faith Formation Minister and other members of the University Ministry Team.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Schedule bi-weekly check-in time with supervisor to establish clear tasks lists and projects
- Schedule 3-4 hours of in office/recording studio work per week
- Work on projects and tasks in the office
- Offer hospitality to visitors to the office
Podcast Specific work
- Co-host on the podcast
- Help plan content, themes and guests for upcoming seasons
- Administrative work: sending email communications with guests and sound engineer
- Scheduling recording sessions
- Brainstorming questions for episodes.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least s sophomore student by year not by credit. Need to have completed a year of school at Detroit Mercy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good time management, creative, communicative, organized and hospitable.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 3-5 Hours weekly
