Position Type: Federal Work Study And Non Work Study

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

As the intern for Social Media and Marketing, you will assist the University Ministry Team in planning out, creating, and generating social media content and marketing for the 2025-2026 academic year. This includes helping to create a social media plan, attending large ministry events to capture content, organizing a schedule for marketing and assisting in developing the University Ministry brand. The intern will report to the Faith Formation Minister (Anna Bryson). The intern is responsible for assistance in the following areas: Planning, creating, recruiting, and advertising for University Ministry Programs. 

Expectations:

• Fulfill roles as stated in the intern roles and action plans. 

• Exemplify a Spiritually developing lifestyle in action, integrity, and communication.

• Strive to be prompt and exemplify good time management skills.

Weekly Outlook and Action Plan:

The weekly outlook and action plan will coincide with the areas of ministry, special events, and community outreach projects that are developed by the Faith Formation Minister and other members of the University Ministry Team. 

Weekly Responsibilities: 

• Schedule bi-weekly check-in time with supervisor to establish clear tasks lists and projects 

• Schedule 3-4 hours of in office work per week 

• Work on projects and tasks in the office 

• Offer hospitality to visitors to the office 
 

Social Media Tasks:
 

• Create on trend and engaging TikTok Content 

• Help with large form content video production 

• Create and Schedule Instagram reels/posts for religious holidays and program promotion.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a second-year student or older.
  • Student has to complete at least one year of schooling at Detroit Mercy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good time management, organized, clear communicator, confident, and hospitable.

Anticipated Schedule: 

  • 3-5 Hours weekly
