Technical Product Manager

We're seeking a motivated technical generalist to work closely with our Founder, taking ownership of data operations and serving as the bridge between business strategy and technical execution. This is a high-impact role perfect for someone who wants significant autonomy, direct executive access, and the opportunity to build systems from the ground up at a growing legal tech startup.

What You'll Do

Direct Founder Support

  • Handle ad-hoc data analysis requests to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical issues independently
  • Prepare technical and product documentation

Data Operations & Cleanup

  • Maintain and optimize our PostgreSQL databases
  • Build Python scripts for data processing, validation, and cleanup tasks
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes using tools like Airbyte and dbt
  • Create automation tools to eliminate manual work across the organization

Technical Bridge Role

  • Transform business requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Create documentation that both engineers and business stakeholders can understand
  • Facilitate communication between our technical team and customers
  • Contribute to architectural decisions for our data infrastructure

Systems & Process Building

  • Work within our development environment (Git, AWS, Docker)
  • Build simple tools and dashboards to improve team efficiency
  • Integrate AI tools into our platform and operations
  • Help scale our technical operations as we grow

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Strong PostgreSQL skills (writing complex queries, database design basics)
  • Python proficiency for data manipulation and automation scripts
  • Experience using AI to assist with code generation and documentation
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and work independently
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

Preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in any technical role (data, engineering, analytics)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern development tools
  • Experience with data transformation tools or willingness to learn quickly
  • Previous startup or fast-paced environment experience
  • Some familiarity with project management methodologies
