Broadcasting Internship

UNPAID POSITION

Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension or future paid role)

Position Overview

Bantucola is seeking a creative and motivated Broadcasting Intern to support the production of original media content that highlights Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community stories. This role offers hands-on experience in video production, storytelling, and digital broadcasting through initiatives like The Small Business Project.

What You’ll Do

Production & Filming

  • Assist with filming interviews, business features, and event coverage
  • Help set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Support on-location shoots and studio production

Story Development

  • Assist in writing scripts, segment outlines, and interview questions
  • Help identify and pitch story ideas focused on Black businesses and community impact
  • Support interview preparation and research

Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit video content for episodes, promotions, and social media
  • Add captions, graphics, and basic visual effects
  • Prepare content for distribution across YouTube and social platforms

Digital Content & Promotion

  • Create short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)
  • Assist in publishing and organizing video content
  • Support marketing efforts to promote episodes and segments

Field & Event Coverage

  • Attend community events and assist in capturing live footage
  • Conduct or support interviews with business owners and community leaders
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content

What We’re Looking For

  • Current student or recent graduate in Broadcasting, Media Production, Journalism, or Communications
  • Strong interest in video production, storytelling, and digital media
  • Basic knowledge of video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, etc.)
  • Comfortable working both behind the camera and, if needed, on camera
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Previous video or media projects (academic or personal)
  • Interest in hosting, reporting, or producing
