Office Assistant, CCPD
Position Type: Federal Work Study Only
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Student Office Assistant, you will be the first contact for anyone who visits or calls the Center for Career & Professional Development's (CCPD) front office. You will support the career services coordinators by successfully managing front office activities.
You will develop the following career readiness competencies: Digital Technology Effective Communication (verbal and written), Critical Thinking/Problem Solving, Leadership/Work Ethic Professionalism.
- Greet visitors, check-in students for appointments/events, schedule appointments, answer phones, transfer calls, take messages and gather/sort incoming mail.
- Data entry, make copies, print materials, file and organize storage areas.
- Prepare event materials for CCPD staff (i.e. sign-in sheets, flyers, signs, etc.)
- Communicate with employer volunteers regarding recruitment events and confirm schedules.
- Contact students to confirm their pre-registration for events.
- Attend and support CCPD events throughout the semester (i.e. career fairs, welcome week activities, mobile CCPD tables, etc.)
- Attend required CCPD student worker meetings and trainings.
- Add job postings to online recruitment system.
- Run errands and/or distribute flyers around campus.
- Open or close office according to procedure (Only if shift occurs during open/close times).
- Other office duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be reliable, an excellent communicator and possess a welcoming personality.
- Willing to interact with other students, faculty and staff that visit the office.
- Must have proficient computer skills. Ability to navigate the internet quickly; ability to use/learn Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, and Social Media platforms.
- Prior customer service experience is a plus.
- Must be eligible for Work Study and submit resume to be considered for this position.
