Research Assistant, Optometry

 

Position Type: Federal Work Study or Non-Work Study 


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Processing and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights for ongoing research studies. Assisting in the design and execution of experimental protocols related to multifocality and myopia control. 
  • Contributing to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications. Collaborating with the research team to maintain and organize lab equipment and materials. 
  • Supporting the development of educational materials and outreach initiatives highlighted on the lab's website.

 

Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pre med, Pre optometry, optometry student.
  • The job is open to sophomore, junior and senior students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and to all optometry students.
  • Strong interest in vision, ophthalmology, and/or in the optometry field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis tools or willingness to learn. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires to work in a computer station.

Anticipated Schedule:

  • 15 to 20 hours a week.
