Leader, FCCP Step Up
Position Type: Federal Work Study Only
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare Detroit Mercy student participants for engagement sessions of the Step-Up Program.
- Coordinate program logistics for Step-up Program and Emerging Leaders Program (ELP).
- Manage Web-based content for Step-up and ELP.
- Manage Detroit Mercy student participants in their site visits.
- Maintain strong, ongoing communications with staff of the Institute for Leadership and Service.
- Check and reply to emails related to Step up on a daily basis (minimum).
- Maintain documentation for Step Up participants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent organizational and time management skill and ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-directive task management including effective use of technology (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to engage participating members to fulfill the program’s leadership development criteria.
- Ability to be adaptable, flexible and tolerate ambiguity and last-minute changes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Passion for working with and coaching undergraduate students.
- Basic knowledge of leadership theories and community engagement.
- Other computer competencies: (Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, Canva, Prezi, Doodle, SurveyMonkey).
- Project management and improvement.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 5-10 hrs per week.
