Utility Substation Electrical Engineer
Looking for utility substation electrical engineers in all trades; P&C, Relay Settings, RTU, Relay Test, Substation Design, Transmission/Distribution Engineers. Please indicate your interest with the application.
Entry/Junior level is welcome given at least some of the experience listed below and / or demonstrated track record of success is presented (GPA, successful projects, etc.) More experienced protection and control engineers (P&C) in this role are expected to have an expertise for at least 3 to 5 years for majority of the following;
Direct experience with configuring and providing relay settings for SEL (accelerator) and GE (EnerVista). Experience with other type of relays (Bassler, ABB, Siemens etc.) preferred but not required. Ability to read, understand, edit and develop variety of custom logic (in .rdb). CAPE and/or Aspen: Setup LZOP, CT, PT, Relay and conduct coordination study. Experience producing relay settings for variety of line relay setting philosophies: Line Diff, POTT, DCB, Step Distance using excel or MathCAD. Experience with variety of other assets: Bus protection, Transformer protection, Cap bank, reactor protection etc. Ability to develop protection and control drawings such as one lines, relay and control schematics. Relay Settings engineers will also be working on engineering package development PRC / NERC / FERC / MOD compliance.
Additional experience that would be a plus but not required as follows: SCADA, RTU, Programming, HMI, Automation, Orion LX /Novatech, DNP and other protocols 61850 Goose messaging. Other aspects of substation design; any experience from other trades within substation design is a plus such as physical electrical design, transmission line design etc.
Hybrid or even remote employment can be considered for the right candidate, however mostly looking for on site.
