Job Description
Information Security Intern – Software Security & Automation/Promotion & Governance
Join our Information Security team to help secure software development processes and automate security operations.
Responsibilities
- Integrate security into CI/CD workflows
- Automate vulnerability remediation and tracking
- Develop scripts/tools to enhance security efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and threat modeling
- Document processes and findings
- Assist in the development and coordination of information security awareness campaigns and training sessions for employees across the organization
- Support the creation and review of security policies, procedures, and promotional materials to enhance the security culture
- Help track and report on metrics related to security governance initiatives and the effectiveness of awareness programs
- Participate in organizing infosec events, webinars, or workshops aimed at promoting best practices and compliance with internal standards
- Collaborate with teams to identify and document security risks, recommending improvements to strengthen governance frameworks
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in CS, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Basic coding skills (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Familiarity with secure coding and automation tools
- Understanding of basic security principles (e.g., OWASP).
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Pursuing a degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT Governance, or a related discipline
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
- Basic proficiency with reporting tools and data analysis (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
- Familiarity with organizational security policies and risk management concepts
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and security testing tools
- Experience assisting with security awareness campaigns or training programs
- Knowledge of policy drafting, incident response planning, or audit processes
- Understanding of third-party risk management and vendor assessment techniques
- Exposure to GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) platforms
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree, or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
