Research Assistant, CHP, HAS
Position Type: Federal Work Study or Non-Work Study
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Recruit, schedule, and coordinate with athletic student participants for breath sample collection.
- Collect exhaled breath samples using approved devices and procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all documentation
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant data in compliance with ethical and institutional review board (IRB) standards.
- Assist in preparing breath sensor device, materials, and documentation for sample collection sessions.
- Support the research team with administrative and logistical tasks as needed.
- Report progress, challenges, and any adverse events to the Principal Investigator in a timely manner.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current student enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Qualifications
- Current student athlete or recent graduate in health sciences, biology, chemistry, public health
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage respectfully with student participants.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage scheduling responsibilities.
- Commitment to maintaining participant confidentiality and ethical research standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Similar to that of a standard office setting.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 8 -10 hours per week.
