Estimator

Coatings Management Corporation – Ypsilanti, MI

Position Summary:

The Estimator reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and is responsible for the evaluation, quotation and tracking of all prospective jobs.  The Estimator is also responsible for the entry and tracking of all new parts to process.  They are the primary customer contact on all issues pertaining to process capability and/or initial part processing.

  • Secure all necessary information: part print, plating specification, volume, substrate type, packaging requirements, delivery expectations, quality expectations, samples
  • Generate and submit quotation per customer requirements
  • Confirm receipt of quotations
  • Fill out new material/special processing paperwork
  • Field telephone inquiries
  • Answer questions regarding process capability
  • Generate quote follow-up requests for sales force
  • Log all quote follow-up information
  • Assist Sales Manager and President in development of sales forecasts
  • Identify opportunities at existing customer accounts
  • Identify trends within the industry
  • Interested in learning more about Plating and Finishing and all the benefits they provide

Work/Education Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Drafting experience and/or solid understanding of blueprint design
  • Estimating experience a plus
  • Metal Finishing or Plating experience a plus
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Excellent math skills
  • Computer proficiency  (Microsoft Excel/Word)
  • Schedule flexibility (ability to work daily overtime/weekends as needed)
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be well organized
  • Be able to utilize scaling tools and read blue prints
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Strong time management / prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
