Summer Associate

Forest Hills Financial Group is committed to providing top-notch training, comprehensive support, personalized guidance, and a conducive learning environment. We supply the People, the Process, and the Resources to empower you with hands-on experience in a career in financial services.

Summer Associate and Internship Program Overview

Our Summer Associate program is designed for May 2026 graduating students.  Upon successful completion of the program, Summer Associates may receive a return offer to begin as full-time Financial Representatives at Forest Hills Financial Group.  In addition, they will receive priority mentorship opportunities throughout the program.

Our Summer Internship Program is designed for students graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 from their program of study.

The program is structured into three progressive phases to ensure a well-rounded learning experience:

Preparation – Licensing
Your primary focus is completing your state’s Life, Accident, and Health Licensing. This critical step provides a foundational understanding of insurance concepts, policies, provisions, and tax considerations. Additionally, a full background check is required. Successfully passing the state exam and background check are prerequisites for advancing to the next phase.

Phase I – Training
Once licensed, you will progress to Phase I. This phase marks the official start of the internship program. It includes a robust training curriculum designed to cover four key areas of financial services:
Market Development: Learn how to network and build professional connections.
Client Process and Communications: Develop skills to effectively engage and support clients.
Professional Development: Gain knowledge and tools for long-term career growth.

Phase II – Mentorship/Shadowing
Moving on to Phase II, you will be continuing training as in the previous phase while also having the opportunity to shadow some of our advisors. Showing true dedication and hard work during phase one will open up additional opportunities in this phase. We will focus on:
Mentorship: Observing the day-to-day of advisors and watching meetings.
Networking: Attending networking events as you start to begin building your business and expanding your network.
Practice Development: Work on the "Building My Practice" project to create a personalized business plan.

Phase III – Build Your Practice
In this final phase, you will apply the knowledge gained in the earlier stages to develop and grow your practice. You will also have the opportunity to earn commissions in addition to your base compensation. Progression to Phase III is contingent on successfully completing all prior requirements.
