Business Analyst Intern

Position Summary

The Business Analyst Intern – Data Projects will play a key role in driving the success of our enterprise data initiatives by gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements related to data warehousing, analytics, reporting, and system integration. This role requires strong collaboration across departments including Operations, IT, Finance, and Product Development to ensure data solutions align with business goals and regulatory standards in healthcare and telehealth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for large and small-scale data projects.
  • Identify data gaps, quality issues, and inconsistencies, and work with data teams to resolve them.
  • Document current and future state processes, workflows, and data flows.
  • Support project management activities including timeline tracking, risk identification, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory (AAD) / Entra ID, including user accounts, roles, and conditional access policies.
  • Configure and monitor Azure security controls, compliance policies, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Develop, configure, and maintain Microsoft Purview DLP policies across email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and endpoints to prevent unauthorized disclosure of PHI/PII.
  • Implement sensitivity labels, encryption, and data classification policies to meet HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements.
  • Collaborate with compliance, IT, and operations teams to balance data security with operational needs.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
    • Degree can be in progress
  • Understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and SQL fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data governance concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile or hybrid project environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, etc.) and Microsoft Purview and Intune.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT).
  • Previous experience in a telehealth, hospital, or clinical environment.
