Electrical Engineering Intern

Position Summary

We're seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem-solver who can take a design from concept to a tested, functional prototype. You will work alongside the engineering team developing the next generation of our medical microrobots, contributing to a product that will make a real impact on people's lives.

Endiatx is a pioneering medical device company based in Hayward, California, developing cutting-edge microrobotics for diagnostic applications in the human body. Our flagship product, PillBot™, is a propeller-driven endoscopic capsule designed to transform gastrointestinal screening. We are a multidisciplinary team of innovators, engineers, clinicians, and designers working together to change the future of medical diagnostics.


 

Responsibilities

  • Schematic Design & Layout: Design and develop electronic schematics and PCB layouts for compact, low-power medical devices.
  • Sourcing: Create and manage BOMs, identify suitable electronic components, and coordinate with suppliers for ordering.
  • Prototyping & Bring-up: Assemble, test, and debug prototypes to ensure functionality and performance meet design specifications.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems, including signal integrity, power consumption, and thermal performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and test reports within the framework of a medical device quality management system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, software developers, and clinicians to integrate electrical systems into the final product.


 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards one) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Some prior experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium Designer).
  • Basic knowledge of analog circuits, microcontroller-based systems, and low-power design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with flexible PCB design.
  • Knowledge of antenna and RF circuit design and tuning.
  • Experience designing battery-powered devices.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, and/or Verilog.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, prototyping, and using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
