Training Program Intern
Job Purpose
As a Training Program Intern, you’ll help plan, organize, and guide hands-on learning experiences for churches and organizations who come to serve at City on a Hill. You’ll work alongside our leadership and teaching team to support mission teams and help create powerful, faith-building experiences for groups of all ages.
What You’ll Do
Support the Training Team
- Help coordinate and assist with City on a Hill’s Experiential Training Programs (Urban Immersion Trips, We Love MKE projects, R3, Poverty Simulation, etc.)
- Help prepare for and facilitate educational sessions during Service Groups, and Urban Immersion Trips; with opportunities to lead portions independently
- Participate in outreach efforts to connect with churches, youth ministries, and young adult groups
- Assist with event logistics, including planning and helping lead volunteers at We Love MKE partner sites
- Help maintain programs by organizing and managing supplies for Immersion Trips, Poverty Simulations, We Love MKE, and R3
- Build healthy, respectful relationships with staff, volunteers, and guests while modeling Christ-like values
- Demonstrate responsibility, maturity, and integrity in all areas of service
Help Lead Training Experiences
- Support the Training Program Coordinator, Manager, and Director during on-site and off-site group activities
- Assist in teaching and facilitating training curriculum alongside a leadership/teaching team
- Help lead orientation and debrief sessions for Immersion teams to ensure a meaningful experience
- Collect and share stories of impact from teams and participants
- Send thank-you messages and follow-up evaluations to group leaders and pastors
- Organize and process group information and trip data within one week after each event
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete other tasks as assigned
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Support City on a Hill’s values, culture, and mission
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and celebrations
Note: Interns will participate in a Poverty Simulation as part of their training before helping to facilitate it.
