Job Title: Summer Camp Counselor
Location: Krislund Camp and Conference Center, Madisonburg, PA
Dates: 5/25/26 – 8/7/26
Reports To: Camp Director / Program Director
Position Summary:
We're looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and Christ-centered individuals to serve as Summer Camp Counselors at Krislund. As a counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and spiritually enriching environment for campers. You'll be responsible for leading activities, building relationships, modeling Christian values, and helping campers grow in their faith.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a cabin or group of campers (typically ages [7–18]) throughout daily activities.
Facilitate Bible studies, devotionals, and prayer times aligned with camp curriculum and Christian principles.
Model Christ-like behavior and serve as a spiritual mentor to campers.
Lead and assist in recreational activities, including sports, arts & crafts, swimming, hiking, and team-building games.
Ensure the emotional and physical safety of all campers.
Participate in camp-wide events such as worship services, campfires, talent shows, and service projects.
Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a welcoming and supportive camp environment.
Handle camper conflicts or behavioral issues with patience, grace, and appropriate discipline.
Attend training sessions before camp begins and assist with setup and cleanup.
Be willing to work with leadership to problem solve
Qualifications:
Minimum age: 16
A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a desire to share the Gospel.
Energetic, responsible, flexible, and patient.
Ability to work long hours in an outdoor camp setting.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
Preferred:
Previous camp experience (as a camper or staff member).
Musical ability, drama, outdoor skills, or other talents you can share with the camp.
Knowledge of age-appropriate spiritual and social development.
Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts)
Compensation:
Bi-Weekly stipend
Meals and housing provided during camp sessions.
Training and certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Mandatory Reporter).
