Salary: Based on Qualifications Starting Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 Plus FULL BENEFITS Package
Position Overview
The City of Town & Country is seeking a reliable, hands-on professional to manage and maintain our parks and park facilities. This role is ideal for someone who is systems-oriented, can manage projects from start to finish, enjoys a mix of computer work and being outdoors. This role directly contributes to safe, beautiful parks that support community health and connection. The Parks Department is small and team-oriented with a stable, long-tenured workforce with supportive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance contractors for park buildings and facilities such as landscaping, cleaning, kitchen service, air filter service, carpets, windows, pest control, plumbers, electricians, etc.
- Plan annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily tasks and ensure they are implemented.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance like changing light bulbs, fixing playground equipment, assembling drinking fountains, cleaning, table and chair set-ups, litter removal, etc.
- Inspect and maintain playgrounds, restrooms, courts, trails, and amenities
- Scan parks and facilities for safety and maintenance items
- Support recreation programs and community events
- Operate and maintain tools, utility carts, hand and power tools, snow removal equipment, and city vehicles
- Supervise seasonal staff or volunteers
- Plow or shovel snow as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment illegal drug screen
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to manage contractors
- Works well in a small team
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work of lifting up to 50 pounds, extreme temperatures, and operating power equipment
- Experience in parks, facilities, landscaping, or public works
- High school diploma
Preferred
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in parks, facilities, landscaping, or public works management
- Park management training or related coursework
- Experience supervising or mentoring seasonal staff
Work Environment
This position is primarily outdoors and involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, climbing, and operating equipment. Occasional overtime may be required during city-wide events.
