Certified Substance Abuse Counselor

Join Our Team: Lead Our Levels 2.1 and 2.5 ARTS Substance Abuse Program

Are you a passionate clinician dedicated to transformative recovery? We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) to facilitate our ARTS Intensive Outpatient (IOP)  and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs.

In this role, you won’t just be "running groups” you’ll be the architect of a therapeutic environment that bridges the gap between intensive inpatient care and outpatient stability.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate High-Intensity Programming: Lead clinical groups and individual sessions for clients requiring 20+ hours of skilled treatment per week.
  • Clinical Strategy: Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) that align with ASAM criteria and ARTS requirements.
  • Collaborative Care: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team (MDs, Nurses, and Peer Recovery Specialists) to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Empowerment: Use evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing) to help clients build the skills necessary for long-term sobriety.

What We’re Looking For

  • Credentials: Must be a Virginia-certified CSAC or a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT). Individuals currently registered as Residents or Supervisees with significant SUD experience may be considered.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of the ASAM Criteria and the ARTS (Addiction Recovery and Treatment Services) model.
  • Passion: A genuine commitment to harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and the belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
  • Precision: Strong documentation skills to meet the rigorous standards of Level 2.5 medical necessity.
