Momentum Counseling and Consulting is a mental health counseling practice dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families through compassionate, evidence-based care. We aim to make mental health information accessible and relatable by sharing thoughtful, educational content that helps reduce stigma and promotes wellness.
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and motivated Blog Writing & Administrative Intern to support both our online content efforts and general administrative operations. This role combines mental health blog writing and content development with administrative support tasks that help our practice run smoothly.
Interns will contribute to our online presence by writing blog posts related to mental health, counseling, and personal growth while also assisting with organizational and operational tasks as needed. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in psychology, counseling, communications, English, marketing, or related fields who are interested in both mental health communication and the operational side of a healthcare practice.
Please note that in order to qualify for this internship you must receive class credit for interning with us. This is not a paid position.
Key Responsibilities
Content Writing and Research
- Research and write engaging blog posts on topics related to counseling, mental health, wellness, and self-care.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accuracy and alignment with the practice’s values and therapeutic approaches.
- Adapt content for readability, SEO, and audience engagement.
- Assist with brainstorming blog ideas that highlight therapy specialties, coping strategies, and current mental health trends.
- Proofread and edit drafts for grammar, clarity, and tone.
- Participate in content planning meetings and contribute creative ideas.
Administrative Support
- Assist with basic administrative tasks that support daily practice operations.
- Help organize digital documents, spreadsheets, and internal resources.
- Provide support with scheduling coordination, intake preparation, or internal workflow projects when needed.
- Assist with updating website or content management systems when applicable.
- Support outreach, marketing coordination, or internal projects as assigned.
Administrative responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the practice and the intern’s interests and strengths.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student majoring in Psychology, Counseling, English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Interest in mental health and wellness topics.
- Ability to write with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
- Basic understanding of SEO or willingness to learn.
- Interest in learning how a counseling practice operates behind the scenes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the intern will:
- Gain hands-on experience writing professional content for a mental health organization.
- Develop skills in research-based and empathetic communication.
- Learn how to create engaging, SEO-friendly blog content.
- Gain exposure to the operational and administrative side of a mental health practice.
- Develop professional communication and organizational skills used in healthcare settings
