Associate Industrial Engineer co-op

  1. Position Title: Associate Industrial Engineer Co-op
  2. Reports To: Operations Manager
  3. Position Summary: Designs and implements new production work-cells and assembly lines. Evaluates and recommends courses of action to improve existing production. Acts as a technical resource for production. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and tools within the field of engineering, specifically manufacturing and industrial engineering.
  4. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
    1. Assist in the industrialization of new products, including:
      1. Creating new work cells and assembly layouts
      2. Performing time and motion studies
      3. Work balancing and sequencing 
      4. Material presentation * Operator training
    2. Applies engineering principles, practices, and problem-solving techniques to a wide range of manufacturing initiatives
    3. Utilizes lean, six sigma, and other continuous improvement tools to increase productivity and improve quality
    4. Researches and implements new and existing technology to increase productivity or improve quality 
    5. Creates and updates work instructions
  5. Qualifications:
    1. Applies engineering principles, practices, and problem-solving techniques to a wide range of manufacturing initiatives
    2. Utilizes lean, six sigma, and other continuous improvement tools to increase productivity and improve quality
    3. Researches and implements new and existing technology to increase productivity or improve quality 
    4. Creates and updates work instructions
  6. Preference: Prior related work experience, including co-op/intern programs
