Facility Monitor

Position Objective:

To assist the Parks & Recreation Department as a facility monitor, including building needs, customer service, and assisting Recreation staff with events, programs and facility rental needs. Evening and weekend hours, 4-20 hours per week.

 

This position will be based out of the new Commons Park Building. Training is expected to occur mid-May, with regular hours starting when the building opens in June 2026.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Greets and interact with patrons to provide excellent customer service year-round. Includes interaction in-person, on the phone and online.
  2. Opens and closes building securely. 
  3. Sets up and takes down equipment.
  4. Processes transactions related to programming within facility.
  5. Processes customer rentals and registrations.
  6. Maintains a clean building throughout the day including activity rooms, lobby, office and restrooms.
  7. Assists with programs or special events.
  8. Monitor building to provide support and assist with troubleshooting any issues and concerns.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.   Must be at least 18 years of age.

2.   Prior work in a customer service role.

3.   Experience working with computers and computer software. 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Experience working with Recreation software/registration systems.
  3. Experience with monitoring a facility, including set-up, take-down and working with audio/visual equipment.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and possess positive customer service skills. 
  2. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. 
  3. Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively, and positively in a team environment.
  4. Ability to work varying hours and days, including evenings and weekends.
  5. Ability to handle a variety of assignments under minimal supervision within standard operating procedures.
  6. Ability to apply a variety of procedures, policies and precedents using moderate analytical ability in adapting methods to fit facts and conditions.
  7. Ability to communicate with frequent contacts to supply information on specialized matters requiring detailed or technical responses.

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Work is performed in the office and in the field. Headaches, eyestrain, and other related occupational hazards reflect the most common potential for injury in the office. Work is moderate duty with ability to lift, carry or push up to 60 pounds. Exposure to weather conditions, insects, animals and to angry, hostile or uncooperative persons will occur.

 

This is an active position that involves work in varying conditions: outdoors in parks, indoor classrooms/gym, and indoor reception areas.
