Marketing Intern

The TCT Marketing intern will assist with social media content creation, social media management, market research, and campaign support. They will also help with administrative tasks, event planning/support, and contribute to the planning and execution of promotional efforts to attract and retain members.

Education & Experience

  • Working towards BA/BS Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field required. Concentration in Social Media, Communications, Digital Marketing, Digital Media, or related field preferred. Will consider Business and Management majors with a concentration or minor in marketing.
  • Previous internship experience a plus but not required.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to turn complex financial topics into easy-to-understand content.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of current social media trends, platform best practices, and emerging technologies. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and creativity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Basic understanding of financial products and member-centric service preferred.
  • Teamwork

Below is a list of potential projects while employed as a Marketing Intern at TCT FCU. Projects and duties may change during employment but will always be geared towards hands-on experience and learning across the marketing tactics below.

Content Creation:

  • Help brainstorm to generate ideas for social media posts and promotional materials to enhance messaging within the TCT brand across LinkedIn, Instagram & Facebook, and YouTube.
    • Specifically, short-form content in the form of reels / videos

Campaign Support:

Social Media Management:

  • Monitor social media platforms and analyze performance.
    • Assist in creating a Social Media campaign highlighting each branch and activities specific to the local community (see Americu Social Media examples)
  • Capturing still photo and video highlights of various community events and editing for Social Medial Reels / Videos

Event Planning:

  • Assist in planning and organizing both virtual and in-person marketing events.
  • Assist in running both virtual and in-person marketing events.
    • Math Nite (school event)
    • Monday ribbon cuttings
    • “Bites of Reality” Fairs
      • TCT Federal Credit Union supports the Bite of Reality financial literacy program, a reality fair for high school students

Graphic Design:

  • Assist in creating visuals and graphics for marketing campaigns (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Review “Enlighten” software for internal TV monitor marketing

Website Support:

  • Assist with website maintenance, and webpage reimagining (co-op network web page “re-do”). 

Market Research:

  • Conduct research on market trends and credit union competitor activities.
  • Conduct research on competitor social media tactics, including visuals.
    • Which competitors are running contests, offering perks, etc. (description and visuals)

Data Analysis/Quality:

  • Assist in proofreading all Meta Business Suite copy / campaign materials.
  • Help collect and analyze data from marketing campaigns to provide insights. 

Promotional Material Distribution:

  • Help distribute flyers, brochures, and other marketing collaterals at various events. 

General Support:

  • Assist with daily administrative and clerical tasks. 
  • Updating and Cleaning up PowerPoint Financial Education slides 

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to support various initiatives and contribute ideas. 

Brainstorming:

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new campaign ideas.
