Garden Assistant, TENN

Position Type: Federal Work Study Only

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Titan Equity Nourish Network is an organization that engages Detroit Mercy students in food justice and sustainability initiatives. The TENN Garden Assistant will assist with all aspects of the garden under direction of the TENN Garden Manager. Activities include regular watering, weeding, harvesting, and documenting how much is harvested. Our garden is located at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3 blocks away from the University.
 

Minimum Qualification:

• Transportation to the garden.
• Interest in gardening and food justice.
• Strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
• Good ability to stay organized and manage time well.
• Ability to make connections and recruit volunteers and partners to the garden.
• Enjoys working with others.
• Enjoys working outside and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty.

Requirements

Anticipated Schedule: 

• 5-10 hours
