Research Assistant – Bio [4171459]

Position Type: Federal Work Study And Non Work Study

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • The Undergraduate Research Assistant will support ongoing research projects in a biology laboratory focused on aquatic organisms, including fish and crayfish. 
  • The student will assist with laboratory experiments, animal care, data collection, and general laboratory maintenance while gaining hands-on research experience in biological sciences.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Research experience is needed for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Completion of introductory biology and chemistry coursework Previous laboratory or research experience Interest in aquatic biology, toxicology, physiology, or environmental research.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry laboratory supplies or aquarium materials up to 25 pounds Comfortable working in a laboratory and aquatic animal care environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some laboratory experience is needed.

Anticipated Schedule: 

  • 20 hours per week 

Licenses/Certifications

  • Complete CITI Certifications as required.
