Position Overview
The Assistant Operations Manager will work directly with company leadership to support daily operations throughout the facility. This position offers hands-on exposure to production planning, customer service, inventory management, purchasing, quality, scheduling, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
This role is designed for someone who wants to understand how a successful manufacturing company operates from the inside out.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production scheduling and workflow coordination.
- Monitor production progress and help remove operational bottlenecks.
- Communicate with customers regarding order status and delivery schedules.
- Support purchasing and vendor management activities.
- Assist with inventory control and material planning.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing projects.
- Collect and analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Help coordinate between production, engineering, quality, and customer service teams.
- Prepare operational reports using Microsoft Excel and other business software.
- Participate in customer meetings and internal planning sessions.
- Assist leadership with special projects focused on improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in:
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Business Administration
- Logistics or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
