Marketing Comm Lead Recreation

Position Type: Federal Work Study And Non Work StudyEssential Duties and Responsibilities 

Marketing & Communications Lead is responsible for leading/assisting with all aspects of promoting all university recreational programing areas, including operations, events, fitness, sports, adventure trips, Tommy’s and more. The Marketing & Communications Lead will work under the Assistant Directors of University Recreation. This position provides a great opportunity to develop practical leadership skills and real-world experience working in marketing and public relations.

  • Management of the department social media accounts; Instagram, Facebook, TikTok
  • Create weekly/monthly social media content.
  • Create content for monthly flyers to display around campus via Canva.
  • Track, analyze and report monthly social media analytics.
  • Collaborates with other leads for marketing needs tasks.
  • Utilize Detroit Mercy Live, varsity news, campus connection, slide shows & boards.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of programs and services offered by the Recreation Department.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent organization and time management skills
  • Possess excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Social media management and scheduling
  • Working knowledge of computer design tools using Adobe Creative Suite programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, or Canva.
  • Ensure designs are properly aligned with UDM branding and marketing standards.
  • Meet with the Assistant Director of University Recreation weekly/bi-weekly.
  • Mediate a positive and engaging social media presence.
  • Photography/videography skills
