Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Library assistants support overall library operations. They work under the Head of Circulation, managing inventory and completing customer-facing tasks.
Library assistant duties and responsibilities can include:
- Locating books and other library materials, such as periodicals and DVDs
- Working at the circulation desk to check out books and process returns
- Shelving books and organizing collections according to the Library of Congress classification system
- Answering patrons’ questions about library events and resources
- Completing clerical work and related duties
- Stacks maintenance
- Helping visitors operate on-site technology, and WEPA printing
- Participating in library events
- Other library duties as needed, including special projects
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a registered student in the posted semester.
Anticipated Schedule:
- flexibility during Monday - Friday, 8 am - 10 pm, part-time (20 hours max)
