About Our Firm
We are a growing CPA and advisory firm in one of the busiest business corridors in Frisco, Texas. Our team provides tax, accounting, advisory, and client service solutions to individuals, entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and closely held businesses. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Tax Administration Intern who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in public accounting and tax preparation.
This position is ideal for a Junior or Senior accounting student who is looking to develop practical tax and accounting skills while working alongside experienced CPAs and tax professionals. Outstanding interns may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position upon graduation.
Position Summary
The Accounting & Tax Administration Intern will support our tax department by organizing client tax documents, comparing current-year information to prior-year tax returns, entering basic data into UltraTax, and assisting with administrative tax workflow activities. This role offers exposure to individual and business tax returns, tax technology, and CPA firm operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Junior or Senior standing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Prior internship or bookkeeping experience.
- Familiarity with tax concepts and tax forms.
- Experience with QuickBooks or tax software is a plus.
- Interest in pursuing CPA certification.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Administration
- Receive, organize, and track tax documents submitted by clients.
- Review client submissions for completeness and identify missing documents.
- Compare current-year tax documents to prior-year tax returns and source documents.
- Prepare tax document checklists and communicate missing items to the tax team.
- Maintain electronic client files and document organization procedures.
Tax Preparation Support
- Input basic tax information into UltraTax software.
- Enter W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, and other tax documents.
- Verify accuracy of data entry and reconcile information to source documents.
- Assist tax preparers with administrative and data gathering tasks.
Administrative & Client Service Support
- Update workflow management and tracking systems.
- Assist with scanning, uploading, and organizing electronic files.
- Support client onboarding and document collection processes.
- Perform general administrative duties for the tax department as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with QuickBooks is a plus, as the intern may assist with client bookkeeping reviews and accounting-related administrative projects in addition to tax support activities.
