Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Emerging Designer supports community-based planning and design projects by collaborating with staff, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
- This position assists with research, conceptual design, community engagement, and project development while contributing to initiatives that promote equitable, sustainable, and community-driven design.
- Responsibilities may include preparing graphics and presentations, participating in public engagement activities, conducting site research, and supporting project coordination and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Architecture Student.
Preferred Qualifications (if any):
- Current student pursuing a degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Interior Design, or a related design discipline.
- Strong interest in community-engaged design, neighborhood planning, and public interest projects.
- Experience with or willingness to learn design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, ArcGIS, or similar applications.
- Strong written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple assignments and meeting project deadlines.
- Demonstrates creativity, professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5:00p
