Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Teaching Assistant supports faculty in the delivery of high-quality instruction by assisting with classroom, studio, and course-related activities.
- Responsibilities may include preparing instructional materials, attending assigned class sessions, assisting students during class and studio activities, facilitating review sessions, providing one-on-one or small-group academic support, proctoring examinations, assisting with grading of assignments, and maintaining accurate records of work hours and assigned tasks.
- The Teaching Assistant serves as a professional and approachable resource for students while promoting a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
- Because each course has unique instructional needs, specific duties and expectations will be established by the supervising faculty member at the beginning of the assignment.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on course, instructor, and departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Architecture Student
Preferred Qualifications (if any):
- Successful completion of the course or demonstrated proficiency in the subject area, when applicable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty and students.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and provide guidance in a supportive and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold academic integrity.
- Experience with instructional technology, learning management systems, or discipline-specific software is preferred.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8:30a-9:00p
