Office & Project Coordinator

Full-Time | Starting around $20/hour, depending on experience

About the Position

Gravois Truss Company is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated person to join our small family-owned business as an Office & Project Coordinator.

This position is much more than a traditional office job. You will play an important role in coordinating projects and communication between our customers, delivery drivers, production team, design team, and accounting. You will also have the opportunity to learn the custom wood truss industry and, for the right person, potentially grow into truss design, engineering support, and estimating.

We are a small team of six people, so the person in this position will have an opportunity to become an important part of the day-to-day operation of the company. You will work directly with the owner and other members of our team and will learn how a custom construction product goes from a customer's initial request all the way through design, production, and delivery.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing and managing day-to-day office tasks
  • Answering phone calls, emails, and general customer inquiries
  • Communicating with customers regarding Project Status, Delivery Schedules, Seals, Approvals, and Bids
  • Following up with customers on Approvals, Outstanding Bids, Invoices and any other project documentation
  • Keeping our internal software and customer records updated with accurate notes
  • Coordinating communication between customers, delivery drivers, production, design, and accounting
  • Learning and understanding Truss Construction Terminology and Processes
  • Assisting with other office and project coordination tasks as needed

Opportunity to Learn Truss Design

One of the unique aspects of this position is the opportunity to learn the technical side of our business.

As you become comfortable with the office and project coordination responsibilities, we can teach the right person how to use our 3D Truss Design and Visualization Software. You will have the opportunity to learn how Roof and Floor Trusses are designed, how Structural Loading affects a building, and how Truss Designs fit into Residential and Commercial Construction.

For someone interested in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Residential Design, or Estimating, this can be a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience that you won't get from a typical office position.

There is potential for the position to grow into Truss Design and Estimating for the right individual. A career opportunity like no other.

About Gravois Truss Company

We are a family-owned and operated business that has been at our House Springs location for more than 30 years. We take pride in our work, use quality products in our builds, and work closely with our customers to help make their dream projects a reality.

Our company is small—just six people—which means this isn't a position where you will get lost in a large corporate office. You will work closely with the people actually designing, building, selling, and delivering our products.

The current owner is passing down the business to his son and he plans to continue growing and operating the company for many years to come. We are looking for someone who would like to grow with us and become a valuable long-term member of the team.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Full-time preferred
  • Approximately $20/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement as skills develop
  • Potential long-term career path into truss design and estimating

Why Work With Us?

If you're looking for a job where you simply sit at a desk and perform the same task every day, this probably isn't it.

If you're someone who likes to stay busy, solve problems, communicate with people, learn how things are built, and take pride in keeping projects organized, this is a great fit.

You'll learn the business from the inside out and have the opportunity to develop skills in Project Management, Customer Communication, Structural Engineering, 3D Design, Truss Design Principles, and Estimating.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn, contribute, and potentially grow into a long-term role with our company.
