US One-Design is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at our Annapolis, Maryland location.As a specialty shop dedicated to one-design sailing, we're looking for someone who's excited to help customers find the right gear, support boat sales, and keep our shop running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in sailing to gain hands-on experience in the marine industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in-store, by phone, and via email with purchases of dinghy gear, parts, boats, and equipment
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and help customers find the right products for their needs
- Support boat sales and related customer inquiries
- Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked shop environment
- Receive, unpack, organize, and help manage incoming inventory and shipments
- Prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery
- Provide general support for day-to-day shop operations
- Ability to work on weekends
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work as part of a team
- Ability to lift and move gear and boxes as needed
- Interest in sailing or the marine industry is a plus
- Prior dinghy sailing experience is a plus but not required — we’re looking for responsible, hardworking people who are eager to learn
Bonus Skills
- Prior retail or customer service experience
- Familiarity with sailing gear and equipment
- Knowledge of one-design sailing classes
- Dinghy sailing or other small-boat experience
