Adaptive Swim Instructor
Adaptive Swim Instructor – Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities
Swim Angelfish is hiring both part-time and full-time Adaptive Swim Instructors!
We are looking for dependable, compassionate, and motivated individuals who love working with children and want to make a meaningful difference through adaptive aquatics.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in swimming, pediatrics, special needs, therapy, education, or related fields who wants to develop specialized skills while working directly with children and families.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our strongest candidates typically have:
At least 1 year of swimming or aquatics experience
At least 1 year of experience working with children
At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
Strong communication skills with both children and caregivers
A genuine willingness to learn
The ability to receive feedback, apply it, and continue improving
Strong reliability and consistent attendance
Timely and professional communication by email, phone, and text
A strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
The ability to assess a situation and use the strategies and tools provided through training
An interest in developing a consistent, long-term role with Swim Angelfish
Who Thrives at Swim Angelfish?
We are looking for instructors who are:
Reliable. Our swimmers and families count on consistency. You show up on time, prepared, and ready to teach.
Coachable. You are open to feedback, ask questions, and want to continue developing your skills.
Flexible thinkers. Every swimmer is different. You can evaluate what is happening during a lesson and adjust using the tools and strategies provided through training.
Strong communicators. You can connect with children with a wide range of communication styles while also communicating professionally with parents, caregivers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Team players. You support your coworkers, contribute to a positive work environment, and are willing to learn from others.
Committed. Whether you join us part-time or full-time, we are looking for people who want to become strong adaptive swim instructors and grow with the company—not someone looking for a temporary position for a few weeks or months.
Physical Requirements
Adaptive swim instruction is an active, hands-on job. Instructors must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may include:
Entering and exiting the pool repeatedly
Standing and moving in the water for extended periods
Working in close proximity to children
Physically assisting swimmers when appropriate
Maintaining a safe and organized pool environment
Responding quickly when needed to support swimmer safety
Why Swim Angelfish?
Swim Angelfish specializes in adaptive aquatics for children with disabilities and diverse support needs. Our instructors receive specialized training, tools, and ongoing feedback to help them become confident and effective adaptive swim instructors.
We aren't simply looking for someone to fill a shift at the pool. We are looking for people who want to learn, build relationships with families, develop specialized skills, and grow with our team.
Part-time and full-time positions are available.
If you are reliable, coachable, compassionate, and excited to help children succeed in the water, we would love to hear from you.
