Teaching Assistant, Computer Science
Position Type: Federal Work Study or Non-Work Study
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Classroom Support: Assist the instructor during lectures and lab sessions by providing explanations, answering questions, and clarifying programming concepts.
- Student Guidance: Offer one-on-one or group support to students who are struggling with C++ programming topics, debugging code, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Grading: Evaluate and provide feedback on assignments, quizzes, and exams in a timely manner. Ensure grading is consistent with the course guidelines.
- Office Hours: Hold regular office hours to provide additional opportunities for students to seek help, discuss coursework, and gain further understanding.
- Lab Assistance: Oversee and support students during lab sessions, ensuring they can successfully complete programming tasks and assignments.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Senior undergraduate or graduate student.
- Major in computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of the course material.
- Availability during class hours and office hours.
- Commitment and dedication to student success.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM. Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM.
