Office Assistant, Center for Career & Professional Development
Position Type: Federal Work Study only
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Greet visitors, check in students for appointments/events, schedule appointments, answer phones, transfer calls, take messages, and gather/sort incoming mail.
- Data entry, making copies, printing materials, filing, and organizing storage areas.
- Prepare event materials for CCPD staff (i.e., sign-in sheets, flyers, signs, etc.)
- Communicate with employer volunteers regarding recruitment events and confirm schedules.
- Contact students to confirm their pre-registration for events.
- Attend and support CCPD events throughout the semester (i.e., career fairs, welcome week activities, mobile CCPD tables, etc.)
- Attending required CCPD student worker meetings and training.
- Add job postings to the online recruitment system.
- Run errands and/or distribute flyers around campus.
- Open or close office according to procedure (Only if a shift occurs during open/close times)
- Other office duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be reliable, an excellent communicator, and possess a welcoming personality.
- Willing to interact with other students, faculty, and staff that visit the office.
- Must have proficient computer skills. Ability to navigate the internet quickly; ability to use/learn Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, and Social Media platforms.
- Prior customer service experience is a plus!
- Must be eligible for Work Study and submit a resume to be considered for this position.
Anticipated Schedule:
- M-F; 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
