Welcome Desk Associate, Admissions
Position Type: Federal Work Study or Non-Work Study
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Answer and direct phone calls, greet guests, and prepare materials for campus visits.
- Assist with tasks around the office as needed.
- Outgoing and organized individuals are encouraged to apply.
- Work during business hours on weekdays and work Saturdays on occasion.
Greeting and Welcoming Visitors:
- Greet visitors and guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Create a positive first impression by maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Provide visitors assistance and directions as needed.
- Phone and Email Communication:
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate individuals or departments.
- Visitor Registration:
- Register and sign in visitors for campus visits, issue visitor nametags
- Notify staff members of visitor arrivals or appointments.
- Composing daily visit bags with t-shirts and folders.
- Administrative Support:
- Perform basic clerical tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and filing.
- Assist with data entry
- Appointment Scheduling for Campus Visits
- Mail Handling:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages.
- Facilities Management:
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the reception area.
- Handoff and Documentation:
- Welcome Desk Associates coming off a shift should provide a thorough handoff to the next Welcome Desk Associate, outlining any ongoing issues, incidents, or tasks that need attention.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a student at UDM and registered full-time.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to lift up to 10 lbs. Reasonable accommodation is available upon request.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Depending on the student's schedule
