Program Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to assist the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site coordinator during the 2025 tax season.
- The assistant will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the VITA site. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, managing client intake.
- Ensuring compliance with program protocols, assisting with volunteer training and scheduling.
- Addressing issues that arise during tax preparation.
- Troubleshooting technical issues with tax preparation software or equipment.
- Conducting quality reviews of completed tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions.
- Complete tax returns, and volunteer hours.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate for the VITA Site Coordinator Assistant position must possess strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including the ability to quickly learn and use tax preparation software, is required.
- A working knowledge of tax preparation or IRS guidelines is highly preferred.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards is mandatory.
- Prior experience with tax preparation or involvement in the VITA program is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for collaborating with volunteers and clients.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 8am to 4pm on Saturdays during Winter 2025
