Job Title: Controls Engineer (Junior level)

Location: North Chesterfield, VA

Job Type: Full time, In-office Monday - Friday (Part time positions available to students)

Pay rate: $40,000 - $65,000

 

Heritage Electrical Corporation is seeking an individual to join our engineering team at an entry level position. Experience with industrial controls is a plus, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.  Candidate must possess sharp critical thinking skills and a strong desire to learn. Some experience with at least one computer programming language required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC code to control and monitor industrial processes.
  • Design and develop HMI and SCADA systems built around FactoryTalk View and other platforms
  • Draft and modify electrical schematics for control systems with AutoCAD electrical
  • Assist project lead with commissioning of control systems
  • Design and configure telemetry systems for monitoring remote assets

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree or degree in progress in an engineering field
  • Understanding of computer programming and software development
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • PLC programming experience a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software a plus
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking a plus
