Position Summary:

Necco has an opportunity for a career as Skill Builder. This role will add the most value to the company by providing supervision, ensuring safety, and providing outstanding customer service to the clients in our care. The role of Skill Builder helps to provide the best day possible by providing our clients with fun, consistency, and trust.

Reporting and Documentation

Ensure all required documentation is completed timely and accurately

Maintain open communication with teammates and supervisors to ensure continuity of care and forecasting of needs

Report critical incidents; incidents of suspected abuse or neglect; major unusual incidents as outlined in Necco policy for Reporting Critical Incidents

Service Delivery

Assist client with transportation to medical appointments, recreational activities, visitations and day programming.

Teach clients the life skills needed for hygiene, relationship building, emotional regulation and decision making.

Ensure safe programming standards.

Training and Development

Attend optional and ongoing required trainings

Ensure accurate care and compliance with the client’s treatment plan through formalized training and documentation

Behavior and Crisis Management

Assist clients with de-escalation techniques as outlined in their individual service plans

Ensure safety of clients by following the laws, regulations, and other safety measures as outlined in their individual service plan

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for Residential and 18 years of age for Supported Living
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or mental disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Exposure to risks, hazards or special conditions
  • Drug Screening
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to complete 5 consecutive days of new hire orientation
  • Ability to transport using company vehicle
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Auto Insurance Coverage (if driving personal vehicle for business purposes)
  • Training and Travel willingness
  • Successful completion of all required criminal background checks
  • Must possess the skills to navigate and execute software programs (i.e Microsoft Office, Database, Electronic Health Record, Dashboard)
