Engineering Intern

Job Summary

 

Assist engineers with compliance activities and design/execution of capital replacement and betterment projects.  Tasks include annual relief capacity verification calculations, development of standard meter set designs, and design of measurement and regulation capital replacement and betterment projects. Preference given to engineering students currently in their Junior or Senior year of studies.

**This position is working 5 days a week onsite in the office in Denver, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review existing regulator station components and piping configurations to verify relief capacity.  Utilize photos, as-built drawings and inspection records to calculated failed state flow and verify over pressure protection design is compliant with codes and company procedures.
  • Assist engineers with development of meter set standard drawings.  Develop 2D CAD drawings and detailed bill of materials for meter sets with a common set of operating characteristics.
  • Assist design engineers with development of regulator station replacement and betterment construction drawings.  Assist with component sizing and selection, piping configuration and layout, and overall installation design for pressure regulation stations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with CAD to develop 2D drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of principles of fluid dynamics.

Education and Experience

  • Current Engineering Student with preference for Mechanical or Civil focus
  • Valid Driver’s License
