Structural Design Engineer

STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER

 EXPERIENCE
 0+ Years,
E.I. Preferred

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of RISA Design Suite or equivalent finite element analysis software.
  • Proficient in engineering design software and to create engineering calculations and design documents.
  • Understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction and repair of buildings and structures.
  • Basic knowledge of design utilizing concrete, wood, masonry, and steel.
  • Ability to code in Python or similar languages a plus but not required.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives supervision on new assignments.
  • Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, and calculations, and conduct work in compliance with applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
  • Use FEA software to design and analyze structures.
  • Redline drawings created by design/drafting team.
  • Research design options and present to lead engineer.
  • Perform review of shop/submittal drawings and project administration tasks.
  • Actively work toward obtaining E.I. certificate if not already obtained.

 EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Limited direct industry experience is preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Engineer Intern
    (E.I.) certification preferred.
  • A Bachelor of science degree in civil or structural engineering is required, Master's is preferred.
