STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER
EXPERIENCE

E.I. Preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of RISA Design Suite or equivalent finite element analysis software.
- Proficient in engineering design software and to create engineering calculations and design documents.
- Understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction and repair of buildings and structures.
- Basic knowledge of design utilizing concrete, wood, masonry, and steel.
- Ability to code in Python or similar languages a plus but not required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives supervision on new assignments.
- Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, and calculations, and conduct work in compliance with applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
- Use FEA software to design and analyze structures.
- Redline drawings created by design/drafting team.
- Research design options and present to lead engineer.
- Perform review of shop/submittal drawings and project administration tasks.
- Actively work toward obtaining E.I. certificate if not already obtained.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Limited direct industry experience is preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Engineer Intern
(E.I.) certification preferred. - A Bachelor of science degree in civil or structural engineering is required, Master's is preferred.
